Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect?

You should expect that the procedure will take around three hours, the majority of which will be spent mapping your face, creating the outline for your new brows, and numbing the area prior to the actual procedure. There may be some discomfort, but you will be numbed prior to the start of the procedure and during the procedure to help alleviate any pain.

Following your appointment,  your brows may look bolder and darker than they will be after they have finished healing. This can come as a shock to some people and you may even be unhappy with your brows during the healing process. Please recognize that the color will fade up to 40%-50% and the skin will become less inflamed and irritated causing the brows to shrink.

You can also expect a touch-up appointment 6-12 weeks after the initial appointment. Microblading is a minimum of a two step process and it should be understood that the healed results from the first appointment will look even better following the touch-up. This is the session that truly brings brows to life.

How long is "permanent?"

Microblading is considered to be a permanent cosmetic procedure, but typically, it lasts between 1-3 years depending on a number of factors such as skin type, how well you follow aftercare instructions, sun exposure, the type of microblading technique you choose to go with, and other factors that may cause the pigment to fade faster over time. Typically, people make color-boost appointments every 6-12 months for just microblading and every 1-2 years for powder-fill brows to extend the life of their brow pigment. Please see color-boost pricing for information on cost.

What can I do to get the best results?

The most important thing for you to do as the client is to follow the pre-care and aftercare instructions that you need to read over prior to booking your appointment and prior to coming to your initial appointment. By following your instructions properly, you will help extend the life of your brows and get your best possible results. Once you leave your appointment, your brows are in your hands and results are greatly dependent on how you treat them.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please feel free to bring any pictures of "brow inspirations" or "brow goals" that you may have so that I am able to get a better understanding of what you ultimately want your brows to look like. If you typically wear brow makeup, please come to your appointment with your makeup on so that I can get a sense of your comfort level as far as shape and brow color. Remember to bring the remainder of your balance due either in  cash or credit card. Also, please feel free to bring headphones to listen to your own music. I do have music playing in my studio, but some clients feel more comfortable and relaxed with headphones on.

Please, DO NOT bring any food or drinks unless medically necessary. You should hydrate yourself with water and eat prior to your appointment. If you show up with any type of caffeinated beverage, or smell like coffee, you will be turned away and forfeit your deposit.

What if I am unhappy with the results?

I will do everything that I can to make you happy with your new brows and will be more than happy to tweak any small imperfections that you may find. During the touch-up, we are able to make some small modifications, and I do make sure to ask your opinion in every step of the process during the initial appointment. You have the ultimate say in the color, shape, and thickness of your brows. I do always like to be a little more conservative during the first appointment because we are able to make your brows thicker and darker during the touch-up appointment if needed. Although I cannot guarantee your happiness, I hope you know that your satisfaction is the most important thing to me.

Before making your appointment, I strongly suggest putting a lot of thought into getting the procedure done. Although I believe that microblading is an amazing art that can dramatically improve a person's appearance, you have to remember that it is a form of tattooing. Because everyone's skin hold pigment differently, and because I cannot control certain aspects of the microblading process such as following aftercare, I cannot guarantee my work. I do suggest waiting until after the healing process from your touch-up  is complete before making a final judgement on how you feel about your new brows. The healing process may seem to alter the appearance of the brows, so by waiting for the healing process to be complete, you will have a better idea of how your brows will actually look. As previously stated though, your happiness and satisfaction are my top priority, and I  can promise that I will do what I can to ensure you leave my studio smiling.

What is the healing process like?

The healing process occurs in several different stages and takes different lengths of time for each individual. The first few days after your initial appointment, your brows will appear darker and bolder than you may have originally expected. This is just the result of scabbing and irritation from the initial appointment. Next, the brows will start "flaking" off and may also become itchy. You must NOT pick the scabs or scratch them during the healing process as it may cause pigment loss. Then you will go through a light phase where it may appear that you have lost a lot of the pigment and hair strokes from the  original appointment. Do not worry, the hair strokes will return and so will some of the color by the end of your 6 week healing process. Finally, you will come back for your touch-up appointment where I will be able to fill in any spots that may not have held pigment well, and we can make some final adjustments as desired.

What is your cancellation policy?

In the event that you need to cancel your appointment, it would be appreciated if you would do so at least a week in advance. If you become ill at the time of your appointment, you will need to cancel or reschedule. For health and safety reasons, I am unable to perform microblading on any individual who is sick. If you do fall ill and have to cancel, please send me an email, and we can try to reschedule. Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable.
